Altenrhein, Rorschach, and Davos

Fredy Peter of SwissAir and Harry Rauch in Altenrhein Museum,
pointing to picture of Baby's crew, with Hommer on the stretcher
on the ground. Pictures to the left, top row, are of 'Baby'.

Harry Rauch, editor of Altenrhein Museum magazine, with our aerobatic Robin.
We flew straight to Oberpfaffenhofen, then retraced the last leg of 'Baby's' last mission,
flying straight south to the Alps, then west to Bodensee (Lake Constance) and Altenrhein.

Harry, as we fly along the edge of the Alps, heading west to Bodensee  and Altenrhein.
No fighters were spotted, very light flak. We did see about six sailplanes, though.

Spital Rorschach - Rorchach Hospital, where Roy Hommer was
operated on by Dr. Max Richard. Roy was admitted April 24, 1944,
and recovered well enough to escape the following Fall!

Dr. Maurus Pfister, current chief medical officer, under memorial to Dr. Max Richard.

Same picture, so you can read the inscription:
"In memoriam: Dr. Max Richard - Chef arzt von 1931 bis 1953"
(head doctor from 1931 to 1953)

Rorschach train station - Parramore and Steichen arrived
by train here on their escape to visit Roy in the hospital.

Sargans train station - where Parramore and Steichen bought
their tickets to Rorschach, after walking from Davos.

The view from my balcony at Hotel Europe (Palace Hotel),
looking south down Promenade. The American officers
stayed here from June 22, 1944, until they escaped.

My hike in the mountains above Davos.
I took the Jakobs Horn cable car up,
and walked to the village of Sertig Dorfli.
